Patrizia Bovi, Fadia Tomb El-Hage & friends

The eye of the beloved

Love as the essence of being: the mystical relationship between lovers or between God and a believer has the power to change everything about a person. Patrizia Bovi and her friends have taken this idea as the starting point for their performance of traditional secular and religious music from various Mediterranean cultures. The programme includes troubadour songs for a lover, Sufi music to the glory of God, motets from the Las Huelgas codex and the groups own improvisations.

Huelgas Ensemble

The Musical World of Martin Luther

Paul Van Nevel and his Huelgas Ensemble take you back to the world Luther lived in: discover early German Protestant music by his composer friends, including Johann Walter and Ludwig Senfl. You will also hear the first Protestant music that was being written in France at the time by composers such as Jacques Mauduit, Guillaume Costeley and Claude Le Jeune. Luthers legacy has lasted for several centuries. Different generations of composers, even including Bach, have written magnificent motets and chorales for Protestant church services.

Alexandra Aerts, Lieselot De Wilde & Sofie Vanden Eynde

Rosalba

A musical experience for children aged 2 to 5 years old, based on music by John Dowland and his contemporaries, a painting by Sandro Botticelli, a fascination with the lute and the deep red colour of pomegranates. Rosalba is like a sound that goes on and on forever, a melodious melancholy; it breathes music like a feather duvet or a fluffy pompom; it is a place where the sunrise brings comfort and sadness falls still. Rosalba. White rose.
