But sometimes I deliberately choose to turn that relationship on its head – often with astonishing results!” Don’t try telling Anthony Romaniuk that the Renaissance on the synthesizer or the Baroque on the electro-acoustic piano is ‘not done’. Anyone who heard his previous solo programme (Bells) will know that Romaniuk doesn’t do mainstream, but he does have a unique perspective on performance practice. Five instruments provide a whole array of keys with which this all-round artist promises us five centuries of music.
