Anthony Romaniuk

Perpetuum

“Every instrument has a repertoire it naturally belongs with. But sometimes I deliberately choose to turn that relationship on its head – often with astonishing results!” Don’t try telling Anthony Romaniuk that the Renaissance on the synthesizer or the Baroque on the electro-acoustic piano is ‘not done’. Anyone who heard his previous solo programme (Bells) will know that Romaniuk doesn’t do mainstream, but he does have a unique perspective on performance practice. Five instruments provide a whole array of keys with which this all-round artist promises us five centuries of music. From the muselar to the concert grand to the CP80, and from Bach to Stravinsky to impro, Romaniuk is eager to be swept up in the explosive motifs, hypnotising chords and indefatigable vibes that drive the perpetuum mobile of keyboard repertoire.
