City launches new online business license application

The City of Oakville has launched a new online application for business licenses. The new process allows companies needing new licenses or wishing to renew their license to complete an application, submit documents and make payment, all in one convenient online space.

This is the latest addition to a number of services already offered on Oakville.ca to support residents, businesses and the local economy.

Businesses can access the application online at www.oakville.ca/servicesenligne. A secure account is required to submit an online request and access many of our other services.

The city has informed existing licensed businesses of the transition from email and in-person to the web through notifications attached to their renewal letters.

To assist customers in the transition to this new online format, new business license applications will be accepted by email until January 1, 2022, and all existing licensees who request a renewal will have until January 15, 2022. After this date, all applications will be accepted through the online process only.

The new business license application process is the first of a number of municipal law enforcement services available online. Applications for noise exemption and signaling permits will be submitted online in early 2022. The result will be smoother, faster and more transparent processes.
